Buddy Skywalker

We took the kids to Build a Bear workshop to get the baby a gift to take to the hospital. They saw the Star Wars themed outfit and of course picked it.

Noah has been very insistent on naming the baby "Buddy Skywalker". We told him maybe we could have Buddy Skywalker as a nickname, but that would not do. He really wanted it as his first name. So when it came time to name our Bear, Noah resolved to let us name the bear Buddy Skywalker, instead of the baby. Phew

(If Ashely could of had her way, the baby would have been Cinderella.... I fear for the names of my grandchildren.)

They had a really fun time, and it made them even more excited for their little brother to get here.

"Weeds Rule"

Luke was in a musical production of "How Does Your Garden Grow". Only a handful of kids got speaking parts. He got to play the part of a weed. He did a rap with two other boys from the First grade.

"We are the weeds, weeds rule.
Say Weeds... Weeds,
Say Rule... Rule"

He was front and center for the performance. I was very proud of him. Only I wish he hadn't been chomping on gum the entire performance. haha

PS You have to admit that the costume I made turned out pretty awesome!

Spring Break

We went camping in the Franklin Mountains for a little family getaway. We roasted hot dogs on the campfire and told ghost stories. We went on a hike, well "Prego Me" and Ash didn't quite make it to the top, but the boys were hard core and made it all the way up.

By the end, we had some very dirty, dusty children but it was well worth it. I think the biggest adventure of all was the fact that we forgot the queen size air bed and John and I (including my big belly) spent the night on a twin air bed. I was grateful to come home to my King size bed after a night of " OK 1 2 3 flip" every hour.

Grandma Chaffin's Annual February Visit

My kids always love it when Grandma comes in town to visit. This time we didn't let them know she was coming. We just jumped in the van and told them we were going to pick up a surprise for them. They were so excited to see her and our week was filled with lots of extra laughs with fun lovin' Grandma Chaffin around.

Movie time

Don't ask me why we are all wearing red and white, we didn't coordinate that way on purpose.

Picking up Lukey from school.

John is always so serious.

Grandma joined in on all the playground fun.

We spent a lot of our time outside so Grandma could soak up all the El Paso sunrays. We went to our ward dessert auction the first night she was here and John got a little "bid happy". We ended up with a bazillion desserts that we ate all week long. I think we all gained ten pounds. Plus we got her hooked on watching Psych. She had to go home and order Netflix to finish watching the rest of the show. Of course there was lots of Blue Bell ice cream to be had. Poor John got sick halfway through the vacation, maybe it was all the junk food.

Lukes New Eye Wear

Well it looks like Luke is going to be as blind as his Mama.

After we picked up his glassed he was amazed at all he could see. He kept lifting up his frames and saying, "I can't see that sign over there mom", then he would lower them and say "oh, now I can." Poor thing, now he knows what it's like to have clear vision and I'm grateful they have invented glassed that aren't 10 inches thick, so he won't get called names at school.

Isn't he handsome!

Birthday Roadtrip

We packed our bags and headed to Arizona so that we could enjoy the boys birthdays with G-Ma and G-Pa and Eric and Andrea (whose belly was too ginormous to travel to us).

Pizza Party with Katelyn, Ashley, Seth, Luke, Noah, Jackson, Lydia and Baby Taylor.

They both wanted a "TRON" birthday cake, even though they actually don't even know anything about it. They had watched the preview for the new movie a million times over and thought that it was pretty amazing.

Favorite gift were these super hero costumes. They lived in them all weekend.

Hangin' out in their matching PJ's.

IKEA on our way back home. Ashley couldn't resist taking off her shoes and climbing into all of the different bed displays.

It was such a relaxing break for all of us. Somewhere we found time to go to my cousin Clays' reception, sneak in a trip to the temple, double date lunch with E and A, classic Sunday dinner with parents and grandma and grandpa at my mom and dad's new house, play Dance Central in attempt to get Andrea to have her baby (no such luck), and have a camp fire in E and A's back yard complete with smores. We had a great weekend.

And now Noah is old enough to start Kinder next year, and Luke is getting baptized in less than a year. Craziness

Happy Birthday Boys
