Restroom Revamp

So if you have ever stayed at or visited our home you might have noticed that our hall bath was anything but nice. In fact for the past three years there has been an old rusty towel bar that was hangin’ on for dear life. The cheep plastic anchors finally gave out a couple weeks ago, which therefore prompted me to go into design mode. With my in-laws coming for a visit, it gave me a deadline. So a week or two of retexturing, priming, caulking, painting and of course SHOPPING.

Ta-Da, the end result, a whole new spa-like bathroom.
Now of course the seashell sink is not my favorite, someday (when our pocket book does not protest) that will be headed to the junk yard, but I do believe we have made some superior improvements with the small budget that we had. Thanks to John for working on the room before heading off to work every morning. Thanks to mom and dad for watching our offspring, so that I could work, work, work. And thanks to Target for having such a great clearance selection, without which the project could never have been completed.

No task can be fulfilled without the help of our kiddos.

Towel hooks low enough for my kids to hang up
their own towels.

I love this little bird statue.
(my mom found it at hobby lobby on clearance)
so cute

So feel free to stop on by for a first hand look at the new digs, just give me fair warning so I can clean because I have a five year old that thinks as long as he is near the toilet, then that counts as "making it to the bathroom" haha I feel sorry for his wife if he never out grows that problem!

Dino/Indiana Jones Party

Noah continues his obsession with dinosaurs. His party was complete with dino masks, a pin-the-pterodactyl game, and a Jurassic landscape cake complete one large explosive volcano.

Oops upside-down Trey
Luke woke up extra early this morning with anticipation. Last week he changed his mind about having a Batman party and decided that Indiana Jones was going to be his B-Day pick. His party consisted of Chinese yo-yo whips, a Velcro Skull target game, and a cake to depict the boulder rolling after Indi.

The Life of the Party, or maybe not!Aunt Joy and baby TrentDaddy, headed off to work Ashleys favorite gift, Noahs new dino boots, she gets really mad when they fall off her.The boys favorite gift, Indiana Jones temple play set.

They have yet to stop playing with it!

PS High Five to my mom for the cake decorating!!

Hair Color to DIE for!

I get compliments on Ashley’s beautiful hair all the time. It has a reddish tint to it (I pray it stays this color forever). We tried out some piggy tails and they transformed her face into a little lady. How is she so old? I can’t wait for her G-ma and G-pa Chaffin to come visit and see how much she has grown since they last saw her.

Look at those two cute little teeth.

Here is a video of Ashley's animal sound effects. So funny

She has got to be the most gorgeous baby girl
in the know universe! haha

Summing up Luke’s Birthday

My little man in now five years old, if ya can believe it.
Luke’s breakfast preference, Frosted Flakes (my kids have no sense of adventure when I say “anything you want”). The candle fell over at first and roasted some of his flakes haha Next, we woke up daddy so that we could open gifts (Poor John worked until 4 the night before, what a trooper). Then we headed off to the bus stop with his birthday crown that his teacher made for him. We surprised Luke at lunch with some cupcakes
(red frosting, his favorite color). Ashley was ready for her nap; she was just lying on Johns shoulder, while chewing on “Bruce Wayne”. Luke’s Lipstick or maybe he is a vampire??? Noah’s goatee. To finish off the night, he got to stay up late so that he could play with his new "batman and joker" action figures.
Aren’t those two birthday boys the cutest!

Noah's Birthday Rundown

My poor little Noah Nater had a cold for his third birthday, but he didn't let it keep him down. Noah’s choice of birthday breakfast was a poptart (easy enough for me), so we put a candle in it and sang to him. Then we headed off to take Luke to school, but first he got to open a gift.

Then we went and played on the playground before the bus showed up. Slightly cold out, but he didn’t mind. He wanted to go back and play some more after Luke left for school.

Then we headed over to McDonald's to enjoy some lunch and indoor playground fun.

Sadly, this was the best picture of me and my No-no

(he was just about to cough)

Maybe if I hang him upside down all his snot will drain out???

He got to test out his new puff paint markers.

Ice Cream Candle Celebration!

Happy Birthday Noah!

I love ya more than my luggage!

Starting the year off with a Bang!!!

Our Christmas morning involved one excited Grandpa! Why you ask??? Because he had bought his oldest grandson his first real gun. Luke was so excited to wake up yesterday to go out shooting with his papa and daddy! At first he thought he was going hunting for deer. But was still just as excited when he was told that he was going to shoot at targets. Most boys get their first gun at an older age, so I am sure Luke is going to have excellent marksmanship by the time all the other boys are just learning their hunter safety stuff.
It was so much fun, Grandma had to get in on the fun too!
It’s really hard to get a four year old to try to sit still and aim. But by the end he actually hit the target a few times. (Although I am told it was probably more luck, than aim) Regardless, the kid had a grand time firing off rounds left and right! He enjoyed shooting his gun for awhile, and then he got bored and headed to the truck to play. It is going to be a fun ritual for him and his papa and daddy to go out and achieve "22 Riflery Perfection" over the years.

Let us just pray that he doesn't shoot his eye out!
