Twins, Thanksgiving, and Snow

What a holiday for the Chaffins. We had lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The twins finally made it home! My twin cousins came home from their Brazilian missions on Thanksgiving morning. The whole Larson clan went to the airport to welcome them home, all 60 + of us. I had always pictured this day with Ashley in it. I wish she had been there to give those boys a big huge hug as soon as they got off the plane. But I am sure she will have her reunion with her twins someday. I am just grateful to have them return home safely. I’m proud of them for serving a full productive mission and for always being best buds to Ashley. She loved them. Thanks twiners!

Next, we headed to the church for turkey dinner. No ones house would outfit the whole Larson bunch this year. Uncle Keith set up his new “500,000 inch” wide screen TV along with couches for the Cowboy game. Dinner was delicious as usual. Thanks to Grandma and all the Aunts involved. And a special congratulations to Ty who got the annual surprise “Dollar in the Dough” (crescent roll with a dollar bill hidden in it). Definitely one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions. Along with Football and pie, which there was plenty of this weekend.

Last but not least, Snow in El Paso. We had a downpour of snow overnight. So we woke up to a winter wonderland Saturday morning. John had the boys suited up before I even got moving that morning. Needless to say he was excited. We had a lot of fun. We had a great holiday, and we are looking forward to Christmas.

Clydesdales

Johns cousin Jerry (Jer-Bear) works with the Budweiser Clydesdale's and came into town for the annual Thanksgiving day parade in El Paso. So we took the boys over to see the "Big Horses".

They had a fun time. Luke was a little more timid than Noah. Noah went right up the horses and wanted to pet them.


They also had the Budweiser dalmatian there. Along with a bunch of old ranch dogs.

And one of those ranch dogs didn’t appreciate Luke. Yes, Our Lukey got a dog bite. A cranky old dog just took a bite out of my buppa for no reason. He survived and was mostly scared rather than hurt, thank goodness. And he has yet to start foaming at the mouth. So that’s a good thing too. Sorry Lukers!

But all in all, they had a fun time. Thanks again Jer-Bear.

Ashley Renee Chaffin

Ladies and Gentlemen, without further adieu, we give you Ashley Renee Chaffin. Ashley comes to you from a little old place called the "Pre-mortal life". She entered here in the Chaffin stage, Thursday, November 8th, 2007, weighing in at 7 lbs. and 7 ounces, at only 19 and 7/8 inches she is one cute bundle. Right now she is here for your viewing pleasure, with these few photographs. Stay tuned for future feats: smiling, laughing, eating solid foods, crawling, walking, talking, playing with her brothers, first day of school, beating up her brothers, elk hunting, fishing with her Daddy, high school, shopping with her Mom, driving, dating, threatening boys with guns(oh wait that will be her father), graduation, etc...and the whole time minding and obeying her parents, and just being a good girl.

My Boys and a Baby Doll

Luke is so excited for his little sister to come. Today he came up to me and started squishing my belly. I asked him what he was doing. He said "I open it, baby sister." He squished some more and then said "oh its too stuck". I guess he just can't wait. That makes two of us!

Both Luke and Noah love to play with the new potty training baby doll. Giving her her bottle or binkie and wrapping her up in a blanket for nap time.

When they are not ruff-housing with their dad or beating up on each other, my boys can have a soft side to them. Yet as I type, they both fell off the back of the couch wrestling each other. Let's pray this one is a little lady.
