Here is my puffy eyed Lukey on his first day of first grade. He was so excited to wear his red shirt and show off his new Star Wars backpack and lunch bag. He told me he didn't want to put his lunch bag inside his backpack, he wanted to carry it for all to see. He has been in school for a month now and seems to be enjoying himself. Of course if you ask him what he has learned you get your typical boy answer of.... "nothing". He has a teacher who understands him and loves him. She told me during Parent Night, "Most of the time I think Luke isn't paying attention, but then I ask him a question, he knows exactly what going on." That's my Luke, always in "lala land", and yet still managing to learn something. He has started to have "real" homework now and I don't know who hates it more, me or him. But I'm excited to see him power through this year and really pick up on reading. He is such a smarty pants and I love him.
To show off just how smart he is, take a look at this video. It is one of his favorite star wars clips and he has the ENTIRE thing memorized! The kid is amazing!
At the beginning of the summer my Ashley (and when I say Ashley, I mostly mean me) decided to rid herself of her binky for once and for all. She was such a trooper about going cold turkey.
And now she owns her very first Barbie Princess!
(Side Note: I wanted a picture of the girls but Noah just had to join in the picture, such a dork. And yeah, I can't keep a shirt on that kid)
My Aunt Alice has been my second mom my whole life and the majority of that life she has been alone. Now all of that has changed. She has found someone to share the rest of her life with and I couldn't be happier for her.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Goodman
Ashley was so excited to dance.
My kids spent most of their time playing chess in the lobby of the reception hall.
It was a great wedding and I am looking forward to watching Aunt Alice and Mike's happily ever after unravel over the years to come.
The boys started their summer off with some swim lessons. Noah was the only boy in his class and he was hilarious when it was time for him to get into the cold water. He would jump up and down with his arms in the air until he got used to the water. Luke was teachers pet. She was always laughing at him and his "effort".Here is a video of Luke preforming his freestyle. He always tucked his feet under instead of kicking behind him.
We spent our entire summer soaking up the sun at my childhood pool. The kids loved it and became really good swimmers.
Look how cute our shoes look all lined up. (And yes, Luke has one flip flop and one sandal, pretty much sums up our summer vacation.)
